Andy Frame

I just wanted to note the sad passing of Andy Frame. As one of the speakers at his funeral said, he has had “a cosmic change of address”, and all of those who knew Andy will miss him greatly. I hadn’t known Andy for long, barely a year. But he always made me smile with his infectious enthusiasm for everything & a passion for life that is very, very rare. He always looked me in the eye, listened & asked questions.

Malo & Andy

I had the rare & distinct honour of being asked by Andy’s family to photograph his funeral, held last Monday on the family property at Mt Nardi. As wedding photographers we are asked to record one of the two significant rituals that our Western society practices, & that is indeed a great honour. The other ritual is, of course a funeral. Both are celebrations, of sorts. The day made me think a lot, not just about Andy, but about our impact on the lives of those we encounter as we journey through. How great it is to be able to make someone smile, to acknowledge someone & to listen someone. I am glad Andy’s path crossed mine. I know I am richer for it. And I will miss him greatly.
