Well if this is what a wedding in France is like – then take me there, next departure thank you ! After two weddings with a heavy Irish flavour it was to gorgeous Avalon Lea in the Byron Bay Hinterland to witness the wonderful wedding of Ariel to Gerald. And if you’ve ever wondered whether a top class chef would organise the food at his own wedding ….. well the answer is he would organise the entire operation ! And execute it with vision, panache & vibrancy ! No wonder Gerald fell for such a beautiful lady as Ariel, who glowed like a forest fairy & laughed until I thought she would drop & throughout the day had a smile on her face more dazzling than an entire galaxy of stars.

To the wonderful French contingent, including Gerald’s mother, father, step mother, sister, nieces, nephews & very good friends who travelled so far to be here, many to Australia for the first time –

Vous êtes toutes belles. Merci d’être venu en Australie pour faire la fête et si difficile. Merci également pour votre amour, l’honnêteté et l’émotion vraie !

I have lost count of how many weddings this year have been the “wedding of the year “, in the words of guests ….. they are all correct in saying that. This was no different & as I was saying goodbye Ariel said to me & a few others ” I wish this night could go on forever “

It’s easy to forget how privileged we are to have a front row seat to days like this ….. & the fact that there will never be another time that everyone who is present at your wedding will share the same room again.

That is worth celebrating & falling in love with.
