Only here could you have a wedding, (literally on a verandah thanks to sweeping showers) & it would still feel like the most beautiful place in the world  ……

 It is pretty easy to pick the Byron Bay Wedding & Events touch on an event & this was no exception – absolutely stunning styling, brilliant staff  & coordination like clockwork. And with food by Monique at Hungry Like the Wolf  things just got better as the night went on.

Thanks for having us there with you on one of the biggest days of your lives Rob & Nicole, glad to hear you are home safe from Europe & sorry to hear you have to go back to work today !!!

Byron Bay Wedding Photography

Weather aside it was a brilliant day with the Japanese family of Aki united with the Noble’s. Aki & Jon’s two beautiful children Kenny & Kittika led the bridesmaids & Aki, with her step father in-law down the aisle in a way only a beautiful brother & sister can.

While shooting the girls preparation there was very little english being spoken. I knew this would be the case but the most interesting thing for me was how easy it was to follow what was happening & going to happen without any formal verbal communication. It made me realise how much of what we do is pure observation & reaction & doesn’t need spoken words. The gentle, respectful nature of the Japanese is a really calming thing to be around.

Like all the best weddings it was about the families who came together, their shared lives, & their bright futures together & with much respect to those who have passed on & were dearly missed,

Lastly I have to say it was an awesome experience for me as a supplier, I felt a like one of the guests & totally fussed over.

I couldn’t give higher praise for a venue or its staff.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Noble & the Nabeshima families for allowing us to share this day with you all & for making us feel like one of your family.

May all that you do continue to enrich your lives & may you grow to love each other more every day.

Yes, this wedding was as brilliant as it will seem on screen & on paper….. no it was better. Here you can’t hear the laughter & the speeches, you can’t smell & taste the incredible food by Open Table , you can’t experience the effortless, understated beauty celebrant Michelle Shannon brings to a wedding ceremony & makes the formal parts seem so free & informal, you also can’t feel the mozzies from our location shoot ( !!!!) sorry guys !

Mel & Clint – well you guys blew us away & all we did was turn up & do our job …….! Your complicated (!!!), but warm hearted & tender families that made the day complete….. your friends & your bridal parties …. all made my job easier with their mad antics & their devotion to you.

And you two ….. I am proud to say I know you both & have shared part of your story. I can’t wait for you to see these even from all the way over in Nicaragua …. & I can’t wait for you to come home so I can show you the rest so I can laugh & smile with you.

Special mention must go to Koorelah, the venue – no matter how many Byron Bay Weddings I do I cannot get over the amount of stunning properties & homes we have here just waiting to be lived in, stayed in, loved in….we are truly blessed.

I am one of three boys & it is rare to see the strength of the bond between brothers & the genuine affection for one another that the Casey boys show. The image of Jarod being gripped tight by his brother as he watched Caroline & Gordon walk down the aisle towards him will stay with me for a long time. It was a grip that said “I am feeling what you’re feeling”  as much as ” I am going to keep you steady ” Ric & Judy have certainly excelled as parents, as have Diana & Gordon.

If you have been to our blog before you may recognise Caroline as the maid of honour from Anna & Harley’s wedding down the Mornington Peninsula last February. This wedding was not unlike that one …. raw emotion, laughter, lots of laughter & family at the centre of everything ….. just as life should be. It is & always will be about family.

Now the first kiss is an important part of a wedding, usually in a symbolic sense…..sometimes it’s a peck, sometimes it’s more than that ….. this day the celebrant, Kim, only got as far as “You may now .. ” see below …..

It’s always a thrill to be asked to travel for a wedding … it would have been worth walking barefoot across a couple of deserts to be witness to this day….

Love to the entire Casey & Heggie families ( especially the Irish chapter )  & all our best wishes for the future. Thanks for having us xoxo.

Last time we shot a wedding in Casino was Emma & Dan & it was hot ! I mean really hot. I grew up in Casino so I should be made for it but this was another level. When I left bridesmaid Tina’s house for the church it was 46 degrees, according to my car. My car was in the shade. One thing that is a constant at weddings in Casino is that you will always get a good crowd of onlookers, always plentiful & colourful scattered around the front of the church. This day there was not a single person in the open, everyone was hugging the side of the church in the shade like penguins huddled together for warmth except ….yeah you get it.

I am sure it was a day better than they could have imagined, even after all their planning & work. It was ironic (or fitting) that the reception was held at the RSM Club in town as they met there & have been inseparable since. I believe a very fine evening was had by all & it was a fitting end to a memorable day.

The Mackney & Freeburn families have much to look forward to & I know they will continue to grow & love each other. Thanks for having us in your lives & for being your beautiful selves.

This was a relaxed, down to earth day as the Osman & Bruni families came together to party. If you look closely you may even see Elvis ….

Michelle wore her mother Kathy’s veil which was possibly the most stunning accessory I have ever seen & her dress was made to fit the veil, rather than the other way around. Considering it had been out of action for many years it was in remarkably good condition.

Scott & Michelle will laugh a lot & live well as they grow old together & I always be happy to say we were there & got to share this with them. Thanks to you all especially Kathy & Fred ( The Godfather ), take care until next time we meet.

I wouldn’t pretend to think that I know them at all well. A wedding is fast, demanding & often a blur not just for the couple at the centre of it but for us. I think though I saw & felt enough this day to be sure that it was no fluke, no lucky accident that the Broadway Chapel in Woolloongabba was packed to the rafters (quite literally – see below !). The goodwill was palpable & the air was heavy with anticipation.

After being pulled over twice in the course of the bridal photoshoot ( thanks Qld Police!! ) the day ended at Ascot Racecourse & the night began at Baguette, just down the road.

Thanks for your faith & trust in us & for the love you showed. Thanks for being so honest & for being yourselves at all times. We are so glad to be a part of your lives.

Raw, natural, unassuming beauty, in every part of the day coupled with a sadness & vulnerability as the presence of loved ones, sadly absent permeated the quiet moments.

You will surely feel what we felt as you view the images … & you will be cheering for Emma & Matt & the whole of the Graham & Ede families all the way home.

A beautiful, intimate ceremony was held amongst the grandeur & soft, muted light of the chapel It was followed by & an equally stunning but decidedly more raucous reception at the QVB Tea Rooms in the heart of Sydney city. It’s a given that there will be dancing at a wedding, the amount sometimes depends on the size of the beverage package or the skill of the DJ…..but not with a Samoan wedding…! Traditional dancing is one of the most strongly intact parts of the island culture & if you scroll down you will see Anjuli in a couple of wedding Siva’s, complete with changes of clothing & a palpable air of grace & beauty.

It, like the whole day, was awe inspiring !

I have never enjoyed Sydney as much as we did in this week of November last year not least of all because of the time spent with the Rorich & Tautai families amongst the pockets of beauty & the hectic pace of city life.

Thanks you all so very much for the time you gave us & the love you shared & for revealing as much of your beautiful selves to us. You two & Zarah have so much to look forward to ( especially the next 6 months…..!!!) We hope to see you again one day.
