The Chinese Gardens of Friendship, Darling Harbour are scene to many weddings. On Saturday a bit of Casino & a bit of Goa came to celebrate. And happiness reigned, joy was the theme & love told the story.
When she was 15 years old Rebecca’s mother Christine brought home this gorgeous remnant fabric. Instantly Rebecca knew she wanted this for her wedding dress & told her mother so. Like many women, the first person Rebecca called upon accepting Ryan’s proposal was her mother. She had one question for her – “Do you still have the fabric?”
And now, here we were, in downtown Sydney a couple of decades later watching Christine sew the final touches to this dress, first conceived in their lounge room in Casino.
Both sets of Rebecca’s grandparents were honoured as they appeared on their respective wedding days & were attached to Rebecca’s bouquet
After a mad dash in a cab across to Newtown we met with Ryan & the boys & got to absorb some of their excitement. The air was thick with anticipation…..
Yes that’s right, Something Blue!!!!
Gorgeous, enduring friendships
Alexis, already a veteran of the Flower Girl scene.
The last to leave the rooms at The Radisson, maid of honour Angela & Bec, savouring this moment together & the lives they have shared to this point
A short stroll to Darling Harbour with the CBD left behind.
Just another balmy Saturday afternoon……..
Entering the Hall of Longevity & finally seeing………
Ryan
Sebastian
Bibbiana & Bec, as mother & daughter-in-law officially & proudly
No chance of wiping that smile off even the slightest…….
Aunty Ree & Bec,
It’s not every day that you get to ride a private water taxi across Sydney Harbour with two beautiful people
Upon disembarking at Drummoyne Sailing Club to a rapturous reception from all. Thank you for the honour, thank you for dinner, for making us laugh & cry & for the memories we have taken home. You are two wonderful people with no pretensions who wear their hearts proudly on their sleeves. And just today…….
Those who could not attend were firmly in the minds of all on Saturday, least of all Dot, Bec’s grandmother. A ceremony was held at St Andrew’s in the afternoon & four generations came together to share & be a family. It was a thrill & an honour for sure. Thanks again to the Ryan’s & the DaCosta’s for everything. Love Ben & Jodie xoxo
