How to celebrate 40 years of marriage

I guess there are many ways you could mark something as noteworthy as loving & being loved by the same person for four decades….

….it becomes more complicated when you have three children living in different parts of the world. My parents decided to arrange for everyone to meet some where central ………. like Europe !

And this is what we all did, spending more time together than we have  since I was 18. Elsie was able to hang out with her Uncle’s & Aunty. It felt like going home after being away for an age……..only we were in Tuscany & a million other places. Most importantly we were together.

The images in the gallery below were taken in a little,  medieval walled village called Colle di Val d’Elsa just a short stroll up the hill from our villa in Tuscany. They are some of my favourite photos ever.

As the evening descended we ate at a small bar atop the walled city. The only other patron was a local with a (Italian) greyhound waiting patiently at his feet as he ate. The food was sublime. It was awesome.

  • Thank you Ben for brilliantly capturing the moments in time and the richness of our lives. We shared an unforgettable journey. Life is good. Wish we could bottle the energy and the love – the memories are there and the wonderful photographs are forever. So proud of the Lynch mob. Mum

  • Thanks Ben. It is quite remarkable that after spending all that time with our boys & girls (19 nights), when we all went in different directions, Mum & I were on a cruise ship with 2 000 passengers and felt alone!! Your photos capture the essence of our enjoyment.

  • Ben, these photos are fab. So sooooo nice to see your family again in these photos , and it was so special to have you Jodie and of course Elsie stay at Trafford Bank…
    Luv to everyone.
